“End of the Line in Palestine”
Israel has achieved all that it can militarily in Gaza, according to senior American officials, who say continued bombings are only increasing risks to civilians while the possibility of further weakening Hamas has diminished.
So writes a team from the New York Times on August 14th, showing the US’ acknowledgement of a fact that was also true before the catastrophic and heart breaking invasion of Palestine by Israeli forces. The statements of acknowledgement by officials of the US State Department, Armed Forces, and Intelligence community begin to show a glimmer of understanding of the obvious truth that you can not bomb people’s neighborhoods and kill their children and also expect the world to be safer.
The genocide in Gaza has been heartbreaking since the beginning. While the official US assessment of the situation is now finally reaching the very beginnings of an understanding of the pointless cruelty, we urge all people of peace, veterans and associates, people of faith and those of integrity, to call on the US administration to stop its support of Israel’s genocide.
